Experienced Dog Trainer
Job Summary:
Obedience Matters is seeking an Experienced Dog Trainer who is confident, results-oriented, and genuinely committed to helping dogs and their owners succeed. This role goes beyond teaching commands, it’s about shaping well-mannered dogs through training grounded in real-world experience and practical methods. Key Responsibilities:
Lead private and group training sessions focused on obedience, manners, and behavioral problem-solving.
Assess each dog’s temperament, history, and environment to create tailored training plans.
Guide owners on how to implement consistent, effective strategies at home.
Partner with fellow trainers on complex behavioral cases where collaboration supports better outcomes.
Maintain detailed records of training progress and client communications.
Uphold a safe, controlled, and positive training environment.
Communicate openly and professionally with clients to build trust and ensure satisfaction.
Qualifications:
A genuine love for animals.
Desire to help people.
Honest, reliable, and committed to producing meaningful, lasting results.
Proven experience as a professional dog trainer.
Calm and confident demeanor around dogs of all sizes and temperaments.
Strong communication skills with clients and team members.
Physically capable of handling active dogs and leading outdoor sessions in various conditions.
Work Schedule:
Part-time or full-time.
Looking for someone who can consistently commit to a set number of hours each week. Final schedule will be based on your experience, skill set, and what we agree on together.
Weekend availability may be requested depending on demand.
Compensation & Benefits:
Hourly base pay + commission.
Competitive pay based on experience and skill level.

Training sessions are primarily held outdoors with access to indoor spaces as needed.
